Dr. Rani’s Process

I start with an interview with the parents to understand the issues or goals that are bringing your family to meet with me.

  • In our interview, we will cover question like;

    • Has your child’s school brought the issue to your attention?

    • Did you observe an issue or challenge directly?

    • Did your child come to you with challenges or concerns?

    • How have these issues affected your child?

    • What do you hope your child’s life would look like if we could build a plan for their holistic wellness?

Then, I meet with your child privately, with the goals from the conversation with you, the parent, in mind.

  • Why do I meet with your child?

    • I act as the parent’s partner. My goal is to learn about your family and your child to help your child progress with the treatment plan that aligns best with their personality and your family’s needs.

    • I speak with your child directly because it helps to build the one-on-one trust necessary to developing a healthy wellness partnership. My goals in these interviews are to help reframe your child’s views on their issues from a place of guilt or shame, to one of ownership, power, and confidence.

    • I work to help your child separate themselves from the problem; my goal is to put the child, the parent, and herself on the same team working to solve the problem.

Then, we work together to build a customized treatment plan.

When building a treatment plan, I take a family-first approach taking into consideration the preferences, needs, circumstances, and political and religious views of the family to design a holistic treatment plan that is truly right for your child, and your family. Treatment plans combine traditional medical support with;

  • Movement practices

  • Stress reduction practices

  • Emotional wellness practices

  • Nutritional guidance

  • Sleep health and hygiene practices

  • And more, depending on your child’s needs.

In our follow-up appointments, we will;

  1. Review progress since our last appointment

  2. Determine which practices are leading to the biggest positive impact

  3. Practice and introduce new self-help tools to support the treatment plan

  4. Align as a team (family, patient, and doctor) on next steps
